White enamel chamber pot found at 607 Grove Street in the Cyrus Jacobs/Uberuaga House. The handle on top of the lid, the edge of the lid, and the edge of the pot are all edged in black enamel. The handle for the pot portion is made out of metal, with a black wooden handle at the center. The black wooden handle has a black rubber ring around the center. This item clearly shows a lot of use, it is very worn and chipped. A partial label appears on the side of the pot that reads "Practi..." Items like these were used for household sanitation purposes, most often when the weather did not permit going to the outhouse at night.
