Patty took guitar lessons for two years beginning in 1973 and then put the guitar away until she began dancing with the Oinkari Basque Dancers at the age of 15. Chris Bieter encouraged her to bring her guitar along on bus trips with the dancers. Patty has since played the guitar for pleasure at weddings, festivals, family gatherings, small social get-togethers and with the Gaupasa Basque Folk Group from 1996-2006. She danced with the Oinkari Basque Dancers from 1976-1987 and was a member of the Biotzetik Basque Choir from 1986 to 2003.

She has been involved with the Basque Museum & Cultural Center since its inception in 1985. In 1984, as a President of the Oinkari Dancers, Patty was inspirational in leading a group of 65 dancers and musicians to Euskadi to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Oinkaris. Along with a great group of officers, they organized, fundraised and guided the group on this memorable trip to the homeland. Patty, along with other Oinkari members, wrote and produced the play, Nundik Nora, held at the Morrison Center in 1985 which was largest fundraising activity for the 1985 Basque Country trip.

She was on the Basque Museum Board of Directors from 1985-1993, and has served as Director from 1993 to 2016. Patty was also a Jaialdi '87 Director and Jaialdi '90 Committee Chair.

Patty continues to participate in First Thursday Jam Sessions held monthly at the Basque Museum & Cultural Center and enjoys the comradery of the other musicians in the area.
